I have been part of the accreditation cycle for 17 years.

- Faculty member in 4 different state systems, including a community college, 2 four-year colleges, and a doctoral degree-granting institution
- Conducted 8 ABET institutional visits, across multiple disciplines
- Managed 3 ABET Interim Reviews
- Served as an ABET Program Evaluator
- Wrote or edited about 50 self-studies
- Designed or optimized dozens of assessment plans
- Prepared for 6 ABET site visits as a faculty member, program chair, and, most recently, dean
I know the difference between a stakeholder and a constituent and how to lower preparation stress. Utilizing a realistic approach to support continuous improvement, I can offer strategies to yield meaningful programmatic information to meet Criterion 4 requirements.
I guide programs with a wide range of programmatic accreditation challenges to successfully initiate or renew accreditation, mitigating findings with purposeful mentorship and guidance.

About Barb
Barb Christe, PhD, has degrees in biomedical engineering and worked as a clinical engineer. Transitioning from various faculty roles, Barb became a dean overseeing a school with seven ABET accredited programs in 2018, retiring in 2024. She became an ABET volunteer as a Program Evaluator in 2008. Dr Christe is the author of three books and numerous publications.
